How we work
We’re redefining
leadership.
-
The environment you grew up in shapes who you are today. And those experiences can help create powerful leaders. But also, vulnerable ones. We recognise the impact of imposter syndrome – that voice in your head following you throughout your career telling you that you don’t belong. But that voice is wrong. You do belong.
-
Recruitment needs a shake-up. We’re setting right the power imbalance by creating environments where all candidates can feel safe. Where they can be their whole selves and be proud of who they are and where they came from. We celebrate all forms of diversity and go the extra mile to support our candidates to excel in our processes. Because they deserve a seat at the table.
Tokenistic recruitment has no place at Tall Roots. We work in true partnership with clients who share our own values and who want to build exceptional teams. At every stage, we will guide and advise you to attract a more diverse candidate field, from refining the language in job materials through to shaping your onboarding process and beyond.
We work with employers who dare to think differently. Who are willing to step outside of their comfort zone. Who are tired of over-sourced and predictable shortlists. Employers who are not just seeking leaders, but who are ready to redefine leadership - by embracing the strengths that come from diversity.

Equity,
Diversity
& Inclusion -
Research shows that people from low socioeconomic backgrounds remain underrepresented in leadership.
Unconscious bias often dismisses individuals based on atypical career paths, unrelatable networks, or even the way that they talk. This perpetuates a cycle of social inequality. Often the person who is offered the role fits a certain mould.
We want to break that cycle.
-
We empower organisations to feel confident talking about class. We help them to understand the significance of socioeconomic diversity in the context of intersectionality with other areas of diversity, such as race or gender.
-
We embed social mobility into our campaigns and track socioeconomic data as part of our standard equal opportunities process.
But we know this isn’t enough. As a social business, we want to go further. That’s why we are committed to supporting emerging leaders from low-income backgrounds by offering a combination of mentoring, professional coaching and bursaries.
Our approach not only enhances socioeconomic diversity but strengthens diversity as a whole.
