Tall Roots supports the UK’s largest fostering charity to appoint a new Chair and seven Trustees
We’re delighted to have worked with the UK's largest fostering charity, TACT, in the successful appointment of a new Chair of Trustees, Bert O’Donoghue, and seven new Trustees.
Bert O’Donoghue joined the Board in Spring 2024, bringing a wealth of commercial experience alongside a strong understanding of the challenges and opportunities within the charity sector, having served as the Chair of St Christopher’s Fellowship (SCF) and as a Trustee of Paper Boat, a charity working with children and young people from marginalised communities in India. Since 2017, Bert has also sat as a Magistrate in the adult criminal courts in Surrey.
We were pleased to continue our partnership with TACT, recruiting seven additional Trustees with professional expertise across finance, HR, technology, social care and CAMHS. TACT was particularly keen to bring lived experience of navigating the care system onto its Board and we were proud to have enabled them to do this.
“Not only were we able to diversify our Board through this campaign, we were also able to appoint care experienced adults to our Board, which is incredibly important to us as a charity that exists for young people in the care system. We are delighted with the outcome, and would not hesitate to recommend Tall Roots to other organisations looking to undertake similar projects.” Andy Elvin, CEO, TACT
